The reason for the raised height of the upper is due to several factors. It provides additional support for the ankle while still maintaining the versatility found in our iconic 6-inch upper. The additional inch in height also balances the weight and lift of the Vibram® Lug sole against the ground, which better supports the foot and ankle on uneven trails, shifting terrain, and steeper slopes.
